Set up your store the right way

Before you list, give your store a proper name, terms, and shipping — so buyers know who they're dealing with and exactly what to expect. Here's the setup, step by step.

Name your store

Your store name is how buyers recognize you. Open Store Setup from your Dashboard and pick one of two options — use your eBay ID, or request a custom business name.

Use my eBay ID names your store after your eBay username instantly. Request a custom store name lets you use a business name — it needs a quick verification document and staff approval.

If you choose a custom name, enter it exactly as it appears on your paperwork, upload a verification document, and note the document type. Our staff review it, and your store name goes live once approved.

Tell buyers your ground rules up front. Open Store Terms and write your terms and return policy — these are shown to buyers on your listings, so clear terms mean fewer surprises for everyone.

Cover the essentials — returns, handling time, and anything a buyer should know before purchasing. Keep it plain and honest, then Save Settings.

Configure your store terms and return policy. These will be shown to buyers.

Returns accepted within 7 days if the card is unaltered and in its original holder. Buyer pays return shipping. Ships within 2 business days of cleared payment.

Do I have to request a custom store name?
