Hello! I purchased a used 8170 at least half a year ago. I’ve tried every fix imaginable including the 3D printed part. I also tried a fi 7160 with similar issues.

My cards will inconsistently get damage anywhere and everywhere. I scan sleeved Pokemon and One Piece cards (One Piece being a bit thicker) at the moment this has been the safest.

Most batches of 50-100 will have at least 1-5 damaged cards. Whether that be a long diagonal scratch across the back, vertical or horizontal lines on the front, or the occasional destruction of the back with 5-10 scratches everywhere.

I’ve seen many Pokemon YouTubers praise the 8170 saying they can run any card raw through it without any worry. Could I just have been unlucky and bought 2 faulty scanners since they’re both used?
