what worked for me so far

I live in Europe, so buying Max’s replacement part has been difficult for me. In the meantime, I figured out a temporary workaround that at least lets me scan.

  • I removed the “knuckles” part entirely.

  • I use tight sleeves instead of penny sleeves.

  • I shuffle the cards in my hand, as Max shows in some of his videos, so they get a bit “loose.”

Doing this, I’ve been able to scan cards without scratches. You will still get a few overlapping scans from time to time, though, and that can only really be fixed with the replacement part.

Penny sleeves seem to cause overlaps much more often than tight sleeves.

Settings wise i’m using:

  • Pick speed: normal

  • Slow speed feed mode: on

I’ll post an update here if anything else comes up.

I tried contacting Max on Instagram to buy the part from Europe, but it didn’t work out. Hopefully he sees this here and can help.

P.S. Honestly, if I had known I’d need to do all of this just to make such an expensive scanner work without leaving marks on the cards, I probably would have bought something else. I did buy it second hand, still sealed and brand new, so I can’t really return it.

We have added specific countries in Europe to the shipping list now per the request of our clients. Where are you located?
